To minimize prolonged exposure to moisture and chemicals that can cause tarnishing and wear, I recommend removing your jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising or cleaning. When not being worn, it’s best to store your jewelry in an airtight container (a ziplock bag will do) or a felt bag, which helps absorb excess moisture. A cleaning cloth will be included with your purchase.
Pearls
Pearls respond well to frequent wear, as the natural oils on our skin can help them maintain their lustre. However, it is important to protect your pearls from exposure to any harsh chemicals such as those found in perfumes, hand sanitizer, soaps, and cleaning products as these can wear away at the pearl’s surface and create a dull appearance. Pearls can be carefully washed using a very gentle unscented soap and dried with a soft cloth.

Gemstones
The gemstones I use have varying degrees of hardness and porosity, so it’s always advised to err on the side of caution and treat them as you would pearls. If your gemstones become scratched or dull, please contact me to see about having them replaced.
Polymer Clay Beads
Clean polymer clay earrings & beads by using a slightly damp baby wipe or cloth. Dry before use. Do NOT bend, drop or throw as this weakens the clay and can break. Avoid contact with perfumes, hairspray, makeup & moisturizers. These may cause discoloration to your jewelry.

Stainless Steel
Avoid harsh chemicals. Bleach and chlorine can damage the surface of stainless steel metal, therefore, I recommend you remove any jewelry before swimming in chlorinated pools. If you choose to go with a jewelry cleaner, make sure that it is safe to use on stainless steel metals, as some cleaners can be abrasive and scratch steel. Avoid storing your jewelry with other sharp objects or jewelry as this could scratch it.
Sterling Silver
Believe it or not, your skins natural oils will help keep silver jewelry shiny. One of the easiest ways to prevent tarnish is to simply wear your silver often. Substances with additional sulfur like household cleaners, chlorinated water, perspiration and rubber will accelerate corrosion and tarnish. Remove sterling silver prior to cleaning. Avoid contact with lotions, makeup, hairspray and perfumes to reduce tarnishing as well. Sterling silver may be cleaned with a gentle soap and water.
